Clausland Mountain Park:
Orangeburg, NY

by | Dec 5, 2017 | 0 comments

Last week we had an unusually warm day for the end of November. I decided to check out the Clausland Mountain Park in Orangeburg. We had trouble finding the entrance to the park. I put the park name into my phone. It sent us to the park but there was no entrance. Eventually we found the entrance off the scenic Route 9W. We followed the road up and made a left at the Nike Park sign. We parked at an entrance to the hiking path marked blue. It led us on a relatively short loop hike in the woods. There weren’t any major scenic views but it was fresh and crisp.

The Park offers 2 miles of trails including the Long Path which stretches 326 miles from the George Washington Bridge and continues to Thacher Park in Albany. It also runs through the adjacent Blauvelt State Park.

Once we finished the hike at Clausland Mountain we drove down to the Piermont Pier to enjoy the water up close.
