Located in Poughkeepsie, just a few miles from the Walkway over the Hudson, Leisure Ride Bike Rental is a great destination. Leisure Ride has a various options to choose from, including some for families with young children. There are regular bikes with the possibility of adding a toddler seat, they have the option of Tandems, and even family bikes which can hold up to five people.

The family bikes are generally ridden on the Dutchess Rail Trail, a flat picturesque paved pathway located right near the Leisure Ride store front. The family bike is too heavy for the 6 ½ mile ride to the Walkway over the Hudson. For those more fit, renting bikes and riding to the Walkway over the Hudson is really enjoyable. 

When we visited Leisure Ride, we had little children with us so we opted for an hour with the exciting 5 seater. It was really exhilarating for all of us. Once we returned it, we continued and drove to the Walkway over the Hudson.
