Rosh Hanikrah:
Golan Heights

Rosh Hanikra, located in the North Western corner of Israel, is one of the country’s most breathtaking natural wonders. It is a spot where the majestic mountains meet the sea. There is a cable car that transports visitors from the white cliffs down 70 meters to the Grottos in just two minutes. The Cable car is the steepest in the world, at a 60 degree angle. Along the way there are views of the Elephant shaped rock on the side of the cliff.

Some of the most remarkable 200 meter grottos are at the bottom of the mountains with the bluest water you can imagine. The waves of the sea arrive at Rosh Hanikra in full force and break only when they reach the cliff. The impact of the waves is enormous. The views of the grottos and the crystal clear water are unforgettable.

Rosh Hanikra has a rich history due to its proximity to the Lebanese border. There were tunnels created during WWII in the mountains to connect a rail line from Lebanon to Haifa.

It is recommended to wear rubber-soled shoes or sneakers that are not slippery. The grottos are not fully stroller and wheelchair accessible. It is advisable to take babies in a baby carrier.

There are additional activities at Rosh Hanikra such as the audiovisual presentation of the mountain, sea and history of Rosh Hanikra. Bicycles or Golf Carts can be rented along the esplanade.

A visit to Rosh Hanikra is definitely a memorable experience!
