Van Suan Park and Zoo:
Paramus, NJ

Van Suan Park was the go-to place whenever we looked for an outing when I was a kid. With it’s variety of activities to suit all ages, we would return on a steady basis.

The 146 acre park includes the Bergen County Zoological Park. The zoo is not very large. We would watch the monkeys most of the time. There is an open air train that circles the zoo. Some of the animals in the zoo can be seen during the train ride.   Harmony Playground is a nice sized playground which have sprinklers running during the summer season. The Millenium Carousel is in a gazebo style building and is a full sized exciting carousel for kids. Throughout the park there are plenty of walking paths, a lake and many picnic tables throughout.
