Turtle Back Zoo is a pleasant family friendly zoo. The zoo first opened in 1963 and was updated in 2000. The large zoo has many different species of original animals and different exhibits such as the African Exhibit, Sea Lion Sound, Touch Tank, Tropical Currents Aquarium, American Alligator, Australian Exhibit and many more. The zoo has an open air train that visitors can ride and see the animals around. There is also a playground for children to enjoy.

Many other different attractions, not included in the entrance fee, can be enjoyed as well including The Treetop Adventure Course and zip line,   Paddle boating on swan shaped boats at the waterfront, pony rides and the endangered species carousel.

Turtle Back can be enjoyed just as a zoo or in conjunction with all the fun activities.
