I used to think of boating as a fun and affordable trip. But with the recent increase in prices, which are often per person, boating is not as well priced anymore.

When I heard about Echo Lake Park, I was happy to learn that they only charge $10 per paddle boat which holds up to four people. The lake is on the small side and paddle boats are the only type of boats for rent. As long as everyone wears life vests, children are allowed to paddle on their own. Adult accompaniment is not necessary.  If you prefer to sit and watch the younger or sportier of your group, there are plenty of benches and picnic tables near the water. There are also shaded picnic tables under the roof adjacent to the café.

When we visited on a hot July afternoon there was a sprinkler spraying into the lake. The sprinkler was a fun bonus, a great way to cool off.

Right across the street from the boat rental and café is the playground. There are lots of picnic tables in the shade and some grill stations.

I loved the park and lake which included activities that are great for all ages. When leaving the park I began planning another trip to the park with my extended family.
